Kate Hudson is finally engaged to longtime boyfriend Danny Fujikawa. The Bride Wars star announced the big news via her Instagram on Monday, September 13.
After the news of Kate’s engagement broke, many fans rushed to congratulate the actress, while others grew keen to learn more about her fiance.
Who is Danny Fujikawa?
Danny, 35, is a former musician. He was famous for being the singer and guitarist for the Los Angeles based band, Chief. The group rose to popularity in the early 2010s after the release of their debut album, Modern Rituals.
In 2013, Kate’s fiance launched his own record label named Lightwave Records with The Delta Mirror frontman Chris Acosta. The pals started the company so they could release their music on their own terms.
Aside from his music career, Danny has some experience in acting as well. His IMDb page reveals that his voice can be heard during a phone call scene in the 2017 film Scumbag. He was also the composer in 2016’s Burt & Bart.
What many might not know about the star is that Danny’s father Ron Fujikawa was in a long term relationship with Rebeca Dyer (David Foster’s ex-wife). This makes Danny the step-brother of Jordan Foster, Erin Foster and Sara Foster, but technically, his father was never married to the Hollywood sisters’ mother.
