  • Open the Run Box by pressing Windows + R button on the keyboard.
  • Type services.MSc in the Run box and press enter on the keyboard or click on OK.
  • In the services menu, search for Superfetch service.
  • Right click on Superfetch, stop the service is running, by clicking on the stop option.
  • Now, open the properties of Superfetch.
  • Go to the startup type, click on the box next to it, and select Disable from the drop-down menu.
  • Click on Apply and OK to disable the service.

Is it safe to disable the Superfetch service?

Yes, it is totally ok to disable this service. Moreover, it is recommended by many tech experts to disable Superfetch service if you are facing issues like high disk usages, high CPU usages, slow performance, and many more.

Again, restart your PC and see if the issue of the DISM host servicing process still exists. If yes, then we have two more solutions for you to try.

Solution Three: Disable the BIT service

BIT stands for Background Intelligence Transfer, this service is used for transferring files online.

How to disable Background Intelligence Transfer:

  • Open the Run Box by pressing Windows + R button on the keyboard.
  • Type services.MSc in the Run box and press enter on the keyboard or click on OK.
  • In the services menu, search for Background Intelligence Transfer service.
  • Right click on, Background Intelligence Transfer service.
  • Stop the service is running, by clicking on the stop option.
  • For the next step, go to the properties of Background Intelligence Transfer service.
  • Go to the startup type, click on the box next to it, and select Disable from the drop down menu.
  • Click on Apply and OK to disable the service.
  • Restart your PC.

Solution Four: Remove DismHost.exe from your PC

If the previous three solutions did not work for you then the last option is to uninstall the DismHost.exe program.

  • Go to the Control Panel
  • Now got to Programs and Features, then to uninstall a program.
  • Search for the program, right click on it and select uninstall.
  • To confirm, go to the Local disk C, then go to programs file search for DISM host servicing process, if the program is not there you have successfully removed DismHost.exe from your PC.
  • There is one more thing, go to the Registry Editor (Run > Regedit > OK).
  • Search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click on it then select software, search for DISM host servicing process, if you find it, you have to remove it again.
  • Restart your system.
