How to stream Tuck Jagadish…

The movie was initially scheduled to release in theatres in April 2021, with subsequent delays being attributed to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in India.

On August 18th, it was officially confirmed that Tuck Jagadish had opted to skip a theatrical release and would be available to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon Prime Video no longer offers a 30-day free trial period, but a subscription will only cost Rs 329 each month or Rs 999 annually.

As Amazon Prime Video are the only streaming platform to acquire digital distribution rights, fans shouldn’t expect the movie to land on other sites such as Netflix or Disney Plus Hotstar.

Speaking on the move to an OTT streaming release, lead actor Nani tweeted out that whilst Tuck Jagadish was “always meant to be experienced on the big screen”, he was “torn between the pressures the producers are facing in these uncertain times.”

“With the unpredictable conditions here and abroad and the unfortunate restrictions on theatres in Andhra, it has become a conflict of many ways. I have the utmost respect for the producers and I believe any call regarding the film they make, should be theirs.” – Nani, via Twitter.

Tuck Jagadish: OTT Release date and time

Tuck Jagadish is scheduled to release around the world on Friday, September 10th via the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform, but reports indicating a 10 PM IST launch time on Thursday, September 9th.

Amazon Prime Video has not officially confirmed a release time, responding to fans on Twitter by saying that they “haven’t made any announcement on it yet.”

However, there are multiple reports circulating on social media that Tuck Jagadish will release from 10 PM IST on Thursday, September 9th – an early launch is a regular occurrence for Amazon Prime.

Assuming that this launch window is correct, the movie will become available to stream at the following international times:

  • Pacific Time: 9. 30 AM
  • Eastern Time: 12. 30 PM
  • British Time: 5. 30 PM
  • European Time: 6. 30 PM
  • India Time: 10 PM
  • Philippine Time: 12. 30 AM

Fans should note that Mirchi9 has reported that the movie will launch between 8 PM and 8.30 PM IST, but this has not been confirmed or shared by the popular OTT news Twitter pages.

Similarly, there are numerous reports of a 7 PM launch, but this appears to concern the Virtual Family Event and not the film’s OTT streaming launch.

Unfortunately, the platform did not comment on the availability of subbed and dubbed versions of Tuck Jagadish, with the movie officially only releasing in Telugu at the time of writing.

A stop-start production…

The first reports on Tuck Jagadish’s production were from August 2019, with the first title poster and the main cast being revealed that December.

Filming began in early-February 2020, initially taking place in Pollachi, Coimbatore, before moving to Rajahmudry in Andhra Pradesh.

Production would then grind to a halt because of the coronavirus pandemic and tentatively resume in October 2020.

After filming in Hyderabad, production would experience another temporary hiatus after a technician tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Thankfully, Tuck Jagadish’s on-location filming would wrap up in December, with the past several months being dedicated to post-production.
