Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to make a big claim about Bryan Gil and Christian Eriksen, amid a lack of creativity in the squad.

What’s the story?

Well, a section of Tottenham fans believe Gil could be the man to replace Eriksen in north London.

Spurs haven’t really filled the void left by the Dane ever since he joined Inter Milan in a £16.9m deal back in January 2019.

Tottenham’s lack of a creative source was there for all to see last time out against Crystal Palace, as Harry Kane didn’t have a single touch in the area.

In fact – as WhoScored shows – Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has created as many clear-cut goalscoring chances as Spurs have this season, with just one.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s most creative player is arguably Tanguy Ndombele.

However – as The Athletic claim – the Frenchman wants to leave Spurs.

They’re different types of players, although Gil certainly has enough talent to replace Eriksen’s attacking capabilities.

The Spaniard is more of a winger, whereas Eriksen plays in the centre.

However, the Inter Milan maestro has played on the left 81 times throughout his career, and 53 times on the right.

He often featured out wide under Mauricio Pochettino, and could still drift inside to impact games – we see no reason why Gil can’t do that too.

The 20-year-old – who has been compared to Neymar – combines electric dribbling skills with cutting end product.

Gil is also far more mobile than Eriksen ever was, so perhaps he could become even better than the Dane.

For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Gil and Eriksen…
