The current pandemic has given plenty of opportunity for lawmakers, politicians to spread rumors and misinformation regarding preventive measures amidst this chaos. US representative from Texas, Louie Gohmert, has tested positive for COVID-19. It’s well known that Rep. Gohmert is against the use of masks to prevent the virus spread. He’s tested positive for COVID on Wednesday.
A report from Politico says,
“I would remind Mr. Jordan, Mr. Biggs and Mr. Johnson to stop violating the rules of the committee,” Nadler said, referring to Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs and Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson, three GOP lawmakers. “To stop violating the safety of the members of the committee. To stop holding themselves out as not caring by refusing to wear their masks.“
During the hearing on Tuesday, politicians who did not follow the strict protocol of wearing the masks during the trial were verbally disciplined by Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.). However, Rep. Gohmert wasn’t present during the conference.
Who’s Rep. Gohmert?

Rep. Jerry Nadler has wished him a speedy recovery in his latest tweet:
I want to wish @replouiegohmert a full & speedy recovery.
When individuals refuse to take the necessary precautions it puts everyone at risk. I’ve regularly instructed all Members to wear their masks and hope this is a lesson by all my colleagues. https://t.co/WstJuAW9BG
