Paul Merson has predicted on Sportskeeda that Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United will lose to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool this weekend.

Leeds will take on Liverpool at Elland Road in the Premier League on Sunday.

Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson has backed the Reds to pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-1 win.

The Englishman does not think that Leeds will be able to cope with Liverpool.

Merson wrote on Sportskeeda: “Given how Leeds approach their football and open the game up, I don’t see how they can live with Liverpool to be honest.

“They were very disappointing against Burnley and struggled for most of the game. They were fortunate not to lose that game, and I don’t think they’ll have much luck this weekend.

“Liverpool were very good against Chelsea at times. They go man-to-man and their forwards are much better than their counterparts at Leeds. I don’t see anything other than a Liverpool victory on Saturday.”

A footnote added: “PredictionLeeds United 1-3 Liverpool”.

Too simplistic?

Okay, Liverpool do have a very strong attacking unit that includes Mohamed Salah.

Salah is one of the best forwards in the world and has started the season on fire.

The Liverpool no.11 has already scored two goals and given two assists in three Premier League appearances so far this season.

The former Chelsea attacker found the back of the net 22 times in the league last season.

However, Leeds have shown time and time again just good they are, especially against the top teams.

Liverpool manager Klopp himself has said how hard it is to play against Leeds.

Back in September 2020, the Reds had to work extremely hard to pick up all three points against Leeds at Anfield.
