Watch the viral limping cat video

Now boasting over 2M likes, the TikTok sees a ginger cat, Edward, fake a limp to gain sympathy. Edward’s plan backfires slightly, though, because he actually ends up forgetting which paw is supposed to ‘hurt’ and switches them!

It seems as though the cat is quite the pro at this, given that the owner says “not again!” at the beginning of the video.

He’s quite the trickster!

TikTok users react to the sneaky pet

Finding it both hilarious and adorable, TikTok users took to the comment section of the viral clip to react.

One user wrote: “I’m sure ginger cats are something special (laughing emoji) my charlie is so needy.”

Another joked: “Insurance fraud. I’ve seen it a million times.”

Somebody else commented: “Cats can be master manipulators.”

“My cat once kept a limp up so long I took her to the vet. Vet found nothing. Limp immediately vanished upon leaving.”

“Evidence that cats to have personalities!”

“It’s always the ginger cats, mine does it too.”

“Someone give that cat an Oscar!”

Is Edward actually hurt?

No, Edward isn’t actually hurt. The limp apparently is really just a ploy for attention!

Pinning her comment, TikTok user @hotclowning reassured followers: “He’s ok for everyone asking. Not declawed and is only 3 and got a clean bill of healthy from the vet.”

She later added: “Just didn’t get attention all day!”

Phew!
