Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told Sky Sports that he does not like that Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

United re-signed Ronaldo from Italian giants Juventus last month.

The Portugal international is one of the best players of all time, and the forward will make United more potent and better in attack.

The former Real Madrid star scored twice for United on his second debut for the club yesterday, as they eased past Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Klopp has said that he did not like that bitter rivals United re-signed Ronaldo.

Klopp told Sky Sports when asked about Ronaldo: “Am I happy that he is at United? I can’t say that. It’s not true.”

When asked if he did not like it because Ronaldo is too good a player, the Liverpool boss said: “Yeah, unfortunately.”

Exciting title race

Ronaldo joining United means that the Red Devils are now major contenders for the Premier League title.

This, of course, means more competition for Liverpool.

Manchester City won the Premier League title last season, while Chelsea are stronger now with Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku in their squad.

Liverpool are going to find it tough to win the Premier League title this season, and there is no surprise that Klopp would have preferred Ronaldo not to move to United.

This season’s Premier League title could be one of the best and most competitive in years.
