What new will be in the FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES Remastered Edition?

The 1st & obvious improvement in the list is the visuals. That was expected. The remastered version is enhanced with new features & it’s upgraded visuals will be the icing on the cake.

Combining these 2 will give you the remastered version of the game with modern looks.

Btw, that’s not the only thing that’s getting an upgrade. The audio system is widely improved. With the addition of new voiceovers, FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES Remastered Edition will surely bring the classic in-game characters back to life.

Earlier with the original FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES, playing online multiplayer in teams was messed up. At that time, GameBoy was the gaming console anyone could use to play the game.

Now, that’s not the case with the remastered version. As I said in the beginning, the game will release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS. So, all-in-all, you’ll have a seamless experience with Online Multiplayer in this game.

That was everything that’s good in the game.

Now, comes the bad part – Offline Multiplayer.

The remastered edition of FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES will not have the offline multiplayer mode.

It’s sad but true. That means you won’t be able to play it without the internet.

Reason for Including Offline Multiplayer?

To explain the reasons behind this decision, Ryoma Araki, the gaming director Ryoma Araki gave an exclusive interview to Destructoid. Here’s what he said –

“I believe players of the remaster will enjoy the same multiplayer user experience as they did back in the day with the original game. Three of the four platforms that this game will be released on are portable, so even if all four players play on different hardware, they can play together in the same location, or even if they’re physically far apart.”

“Multiplayer was made so that players can choose how to play depending on their gameplay style. The game didn’t mesh well with the local play that would restrict it to one platform, and implementing both a cross-platform feature and a local play feature may be a challenge for us to tackle in the future.”

Final Words

Now, that the director himself has told the reason why they’ve not added Offline Multiplayer in the FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES Remastered Edition, what do you think of their decision? Do let me know your point of view in the comment section given at the end of this post.
