The best thing about Japanese anime shows and movies is that they all are so vivid and diverse when it comes to plot and theme. We will walk you through the Dr. Stone. We don’t want you to miss out on this great sci-fi show.

Dr. Stone Season 2: What’s it All About?

The show, Dr. Stone is a post-apocalyptic adventure show produced in Japan. It’s based on the manga of the same name. The manga is written by Riichiro Inagaki. The manga is published by Shueisha and comes in Jump Comics.

It’s been in the print since 2017 and still running. So far the manga has completed 16 volumes.

Now, the manga’s popularity was enough for show-makers to make a series on it. It is animated by TMS Entertainment. The first season of Dr. Stone was aired on Tokyo MX from July 05-December 15, 2019. It consists of 24 episodes.

The response it received was great enough, and during the finale of season one it was confirmed that there will be a second season soon.

Dr. Stone: The Plot

The show’s a post-apocalyptic adventure journey of our protagonist, Senku Ishigama. A highly intellectual youth with special interests in multiple disciplines of science. A sudden light flash turns almost every human being on the planet earth into stone.

After the event of mysterious light wipes out humanity, our protagonist Senku revives from his stone form, only to find out that he’s the only one alive.

With the help of his intellect, he spends the next few months trying to find the reason behind revival from the stone form. The Nitric Acid is the compound that revived him into a human again. He finds a method to revive other stone humans.

The first few people he revived were Taiju Oki, who’s Senku’s best friend. Yuzariha Ogawa, who is his love interest and Tsukasa Shishio. Tsukasa is an influential, famous athletic martial artist who can kill a tiger with a single punch.

Senku plans to restore civilization to the original form. However, our antagonist, Tsukasa, has other plans. He thinks that adults are the corrupt faction of civilization, which is why the old civilization deserved to have perished. At the same time, Senku thinks that a new civilization should be built around science.

The difference of opinions led to a gruesome fight between the duo. Shishio thinks that he has killed Senku, who survives the fight. The remaining of the story is around how the rivalry between them decides the fate of ‘’Stone World’ around them.

Stone Season 2: Release Date

The last episode of the show’s first season was aired on December 13, 2019. It was also announced that the second season of the show would be based on the “Stone Wars” arc from the manga. It’s titled as Dr. STONE: Stone Wars

The audience has to wait for one more year for the release of Dr. Stone Season 2. It’s scheduled for premiere in 2021. However, we wonder if it will release by that time, you know it’s Corona time right now.

If the producers announced the release date, we would inform our readers accordingly.

Final Words

The post-apocalyptic shows, vampire and zombie themes are ever-green for making good shows. Dr. Stone is no exception to it. The show received a good response from the audience.

Given that there are sixteen volumes of the source material, we hope there will be at least a couple more seasons in the future. If everything goes alright within the near future, we might watch the show back on the screen. Until then, the show is on the shelf.
