Dell Laptop 2022: There’s a Dell laptop for everyone, but there’s one in particular that we recommend. The Dell XPS 13 (9310) is the company’s flagship notebook in the 13-inch sector, and it’s clearly one of the finest Windows laptop choices, thanks to its cutting-edge components and luxurious design, making it the best Dell laptop. While it isn’t the finest deal on the market, this Dell laptop will certainly make you happy.
Best Overall: Dell XPS 13 (9310)
The Dell XPS 13 (9310) is a terrific laptop in general and one of the best Windows laptops, but its body design and display are what set it apart. Dell reduced nearly all of the bezel to fit a 13.3-inch touch panel into the small chassis – the 16:10 aspect ratio screen practically extends from edge to edge. It’s a stunning display to behold, especially with the 4K resolution.
The XPS 13 is available in gold and white, but the carbon fiber and silver mix still gives it a typical dark look. The new keyboard has the same key travel and lighting as the old one, but it has a new mechanism underneath to fit into the smaller body, no doubt.
There’s still a good Precision touchpad that’s proportionate to the body, and an IR camera for Windows Hello is now situated above the display – yeah, Dell finally relocated it back.
A new processor and Thunderbolt 4 are included in this model. Models vary from the i3-1115G4 (4.10GHz) to the i7-1165G7 (4.80GHz) with up to four cores and a thermal design point (TDP) of 28W, providing additional power without draining the battery.
Despite the fact that the battery is now smaller, enhanced thermals and efficient technology should allow it to last all day, even while using the 4K configuration. You can get up to 16GB of LPDDR4 RAM and a 2TB PCIe solid-state drive, as predicted (SSD).

Best Gaming: Dell Alienware M15 R6
You can search beyond the Alienware name, which Dell owns, for gaming laptops from Dell, but you’ll be doing yourself a disservice. They not only have a sleek style, but they also have all of the latest Intel and NVIDIA technology.
Anything you play on the Alienware m15’s 15.6-inch 1080p or QHD display will look stunning, and the Alienware m15’s combination of up to an NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11800H, and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM will handle any games you throw at it.
The Alienware m15’s base setup has an NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti GPU. If you don’t mind lowering a few settings here and there, this is more than capable of handling the most recent games. The 8GB of DDR4 RAM is adequate for gaming, and the Intel Core i7-11800H processor remains. Even if you choose the most basic model, you will have a nice time.
The most costly and highest-end option isn’t the most powerful laptop Dell sells, but it provides enough performance for the money. The design, battery life, and connectors available are all excellent.
The main disadvantage is that customizing the m15 with all of the bells and whistles can significantly increase the price. Still, if you want to play games on your laptop, you’ll have to be willing to spend a lot of money.

Best For Creatives: Dell XPS 15 (9520)
The revamped Dell XPS 15 is still the notebook we love, but with newer hardware. You may get a 12th-generation Intel i9-12900HK processor, 64GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 2TB PCIe SSD, as well as an NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti GPU with 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM.
The webcam is back where it belongs, above the display rather than embedded in the keyboard, as it was on the last Dell XPS 15 on this list. Even with this change, the laptop maintains its elegant appearance with small bezels. This laptop, which comes with a 15.6-inch 4K touch display, is great for someone who works with media on a daily basis.
It still features a lot of connections, such as Thunderbolt, USB-C, SD card reader, and headphone jack, so you can connect your accessories easily. There are two battery arrangements, but you’ll receive a full day’s worth of energy with either (up to 14 hours by our own testing with the highest battery option, although using the 4K display will significantly reduce that number).
This PC is not only one of our favorite Dell laptops, but it also ranks first among the best 15-inch laptops.
Best Business: Dell Latitude 15 (9520)
The Dell Latitude 15 (9520) has a 15-inch display but is actually a 14-inch laptop. Yes, Dell’s InfinityEdge display is being used to create a near-bezel-free notebook, and it looks stunning. Dell made sure you stayed connected for work with a built-in AI for increased performance and 5G for genuine wireless connectivity, in addition to the amazing display.
It also has the security features you’d expect from a business laptop, including an IR camera and fingerprint reader for Windows Hello, as well as a proximity sensor as an option.
The 9510 may be equipped with an Intel Core I7-1185G7 processor, 32GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed on every model. A 4K panel is also available, but regardless of the display you choose, you’ll get 100 percent sRGB color gamut coverage, and lower resolutions will give you up to 30 hours of battery life.
Best Budget: Dell Inspiron 15 (3511)
When your budget doesn’t allow for the more expensive Dell options, the Inspiron 15 3511 laptop is a wonderful compact package, despite the cheaper price. It has an Intel Core i3-1115G4 11th Generation processor, 4GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 128GB SSD. The screen is 15.6 inches in size and has a 1920×1080 resolution.
All of this means you’ll be getting a low-cost laptop capable of handling papers, email, and web browsing. If you don’t plan on doing much, this is an excellent bargain for the price. The performance is the sole negative if you intend to truly push the computer to its limits.
You can spend a little more and get the Inspiron with an Intel Core i7 processor and Iris Xe graphics if you need a bit more punch where it counts.

Best Performance: Dell Precision 15 (5560)
If you put the Precision 5550 and the XPS 15 next to each other, it’s difficult to tell the difference. The smooth chassis, 4K touch display, ergonomic keyboard, and Precision touchpad are all nearly identical. The distinction, though, maybe discovered on the inside.
It’s evident that this laptop performs, with up to an Intel Core i7-11850H CPU, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX A2000 GPU with 4GB of VRAM. The Precision 15 is part of Dell’s Precision brand, which is known for producing powerful mobile workstations for business and professional users.
There aren’t a lot of drawbacks to this laptop. Of course, there’s the cost, which can skyrocket if you go for the most powerful configuration.
