The show is about young people who have lost their mother and have now moved on to live with their father. Her father, Brian Dixon, is a successful business owner and bachelor of Atlanta but is now the full-time father of his teenage daughter Sasha.

Her father is determined to be a better father, Brian will need all the help he can get from his father ‘Pops’ and his sisters Chelsea and Sasha will need all the help he can get to learn how to deal with this new, loving and chaotic home.

The multi-cam sitcom reunites Foxx with Bentley show Kyle Evans and directed by Ken Whittingham.

My dad and I have been telling these stories for years, whether we’ve been in interviews together or just at dinner,” says Corinne. “We’ve always loved reliving these memories and laughing about them. While I don’t have the physical diary anymore, these moments were so unforgettable.”  

Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me! Ending

Sasha’s parents had long since separated and Sasha, their daughter, was living happily with her mother in Chicago. Sasha has trouble adjusting to this new life with her father. Brian tries to make her feel better but when the effort turns, she ends up embarrassing him most of the time.

Netflix has placed a series order for Dad, What a shame! September 1, 2020. This series was produced by Jamie Foxx and Jim Patterson. Jim is also a great producer with Bently Kyle Evans and Corinne Foxx. Alex Avant is the show’s producer. Ken Whittingham directed six of the eight episodes. On June 18, 2021, Netflix canceled the series after one season.

Casting

Shortly after the announcement of the order, it was also announced that Foxx played the lead role with Kyla-Drew, David Alan Grier, Porscha Coleman, Jonathan Kite, and Heather Hemmens while Valente Rodriguez played the lead role.

Filming

The series was filmed at Sunset Bronson Studios in Hollywood, California. But the story was set in Atlanta, Georgia.
