BTS ‘Youth Today, Your Stories’ United Nations 2021 campaign explored


BTS ‘Youth Today, Your Stories,’ the UN campaign 2021 has launched. BTS with United Nations is sharing stories of how the past two years changed their lives individually and asking BTS ARMY to share their own stories with the world.

On September 13th, BTS took to Twitter to initiate the campaign ‘Youth Today, Your Stories,’ where RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook shared their stories of last two years where the world came to a halt and like everyone else, Bangtan Boys had to explore new ways of living.

BTS Official started the campaign with the message, “Dear young people, What were the past 2 yrs like for you, and what’s your world like today? Express the precious things that make up your world or show who you are now with an image, an emoji or a word At the UN, your stories will begin.”

BTS has been selected as the South Korean presidential envoy for United Nationals General Assembly, 2021 where the Grammy-nominated group will deliver another speech addressing the global youth this September.

Prior to their UN speech, BTS opened the dialogue for their millions of fans worldwide to share their own stories which can be added/ used in the UN project later.

RM

RM being the leader of the group shared his story first saying, “That’s how we live (C’est la vie) I pursued the ideal but discovered the routine, and spent my time doing what I enjoyed. Are you also spending your days doing what you enjoy?”

Jin

Speaking of the mundane regularity of the past two years, Jin shared, “Taking it easy, Positive, Keep at it. Same stuff but a new mindset, I’m keeping it positive and giving it a smile. What are some positive changes that happened to you?”

Suga

Suga added, it was a time to recognize their own selves, delving deep and seeking out the “Me I didn’t know,” and ‘Time for discovering myself!”He asked, “What were the past two years like for you?”

J-Hope

J-Hope aka Hoseok revealed how he coped and stayed cheerful during difficult times. The ‘Hope World’ rapper gushed, “I tried to change with different styles, different hair colors, and the results gave me new energy and motivation for my day! What about you?”

Jimin

“Watching the scenery on my runs and working up a sweat brought lots of changes for me. I stopped overthinking and changed to become more positive,” Jimin wrote.

V

BTS V aka Kim Taehyung echoed feelings of many sharing, “It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to travel, but I go through the pictures I’ve taken and look forward to my future travels! What are you looking forward to?”

Jungkook

BTS’ youngest member, main vocalist Jungkook told fans, “I made some simple hobbies for myself for these changing times. Did you pick up any new hobbies?”

Will BTS attend United Nations 2021 in person?

In July, official Blue House spokesperson Park Kyung Mi stated, “President Moon Jae In has appointed BTS as a ‘Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture’ to lead the global agenda for future generations such as sustainable growth and to expand South Korea’s diplomatic power to match its elevated status in the international community.”
