The cost for the December snow storm and January ice storm is just now being fully realized according to figures being released by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Oklahoma Emergency Management (OEM).
Through Monday, July 19th FEMA has paid $186,189.32 in assistance to Greer County as a result of the January ice storm and an additional $21,271.09 due to the December 24-25, 2009 blizzard.
FEMA pays 75% of the cost, OEM pays an additional 12.5% with the remainder to be picked up by the local entity.
